ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index BIST 100 increased 226.66 points or 0.21 percent to open at 110,473.12 points on Friday.
The banking and holding sector indices rose 0.08 percent and 0.28 percent, respectively.
Among all sector indices, the wood, paper, printing sector index was the best performer gaining 1.04 percent, whereas the construction sector index saw the biggest decline, with a 0.22 percent loss.
The BIST 100 was down 1.47 percent to close at 110,246.46 points on Thursday.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate slightly went down to 3.8660 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Friday, compared with 3.8700 at Thursday's close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate saw a slight rise to 4.5030 from 4.4960 at the close on Thursday.
Brent oil price dropped to $63.76 per barrel on Friday at 10.30 a.m. local time (0730GMT) compared with $63.85 at 6.00 p.m. local time (1500GMT) the previous day.
