ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,208.98 points on Tuesday, increasing 0.30% or 3.61 points from the previous close.
At the previous close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 1.06% to hit eight-month high of 1,205.37 points, with a daily trading volume of 22.2 billion Turkish liras ($2.81 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 7.9040 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 7.8910 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also increased to 9.3060 from 9.2930, while one British pound traded for 10.2620 Turkish liras, down from 10.2950.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $42.47 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
