ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index BIST 100 increased 1.05 percent to open at 114,641.74 points on Thursday.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 rose 1,186.79 points from Wednesday's close of 113,454.95 points.
The banking and holding sectors were up 1.60 and 1.05 percent, respectively.
Among all sector indices, transportation sector index was the best performer -- gaining 1.99 percent -- while chemistry petrol plastic sector index saw the biggest fall -- down by 0.22 percent.
The U.S. dollar dropped to 3.7820 Turkish liras at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared with Wednesday's closing rate of 3.8140.
However, the euro-lira rate climbed to 4.7170 from the previous day’s close of 4.7000.
The price of Brent oil rose to $65 per barrel as of 9.34 a.m. local time (0634GMT) Thursday, compared with $62.99 at Wednesday's close.
