ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index BIST 100 rose 0.51 percent to open at 116,822.90 points on Friday.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 rose 597.31 points from Thursday's close of 116,225.60 points.
The banking and holding sectors were up 0.54 and 0.38 percent, respectively.
Among all sector indices, the wood paper printing sector index was the best performer -- gaining 1.04 percent -- while textile leather sector index saw the biggest fall -- down 0.85 percent.
The U.S. dollar dropped to 3.7660 Turkish liras at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared with Thursday's closing rate of 3.7720.
However, the euro-lira rate climbed to 4.7260 from the previous day’s close of 4.7090.
The price of Brent oil rose to $64.67 per barrel as of 9.33 a.m. local time (0633GMT) Friday, compared with $63.45 at Thursday's close.
