ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index BIST 100 rose 0.35 percent to open at 116,286.98 points on Tuesday.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 rose 405.02 points from Monday's close of 115,881.96 points.
The banking and holding sectors were up 0.47 and 0.13 percent, respectively.
Among all sector indices real estate investment trusts sector index was the best performer -- gaining 0.92 percent. Textile leather sector index was the only worst performer -- down by 0.01 percent.
The U.S. dollar went up to 3.7670 Turkish liras at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared with Monday's closing rate of 3.7580.
The euro-lira rate also climbed to 4.6670 from the previous day’s close of 4.6510.
The price of Brent oil slightly rose to $65.47 per barrel as of 9.35 a.m. local time (0635GMT) Tuesday, compared with $65.21 at Monday's close.
