ANKARA (AA) - Borsa Istanbul's BIST-100 index increased by 0.58 percent at the opening of the daily session Monday, Sept. 5, 2016. The benchmark index increased 448.48 points to open at 77,332.79.
The banking sector index increased 0.64 percent and the holding sector advanced by 0.69 percent. All of the sector indexes recorded a rise while the mining sector index increased the most with a 1.77 percent increase.
BIST-100 index closed with an increase of 1.36 percent to 76,884.32 on Friday due to the reveal of non-agricultural employment figures in the U.S. which could not meet the expectations.
Analysts say that the investors intended to buy shares in the stock exchange markets considering the low possibility of the decision of Fed on an increase in the interest rates in this month, after the expose of the U.S. non-agricultural employment data below than expected.
The exchange rates of U.S. dollar and euro were ₺2.9450 and ₺3.2900 respectively in Istanbul early morning.
