ANKARA (AA) - The BIST 100 index increased by 0.15 percent at the opening of the daily session Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016.
The Borsa Istanbul gained 113.14 points to open at 77,273.80.
The banking sector index also increased, by 0.19 percent, and the holding sector index advanced by 0.08 percent. The informatics sector index increased the most, with 0.67 percent, while the tourism sector index declined the most, with 0.28 percent, among all sector indexes.
On the second trading day of the week, Tuesday, the BIST 100 index showed a positive trend and closed the day at 77,160.67, with 0.57 percent increase, while the negative impact of Moody's rating cut decision started to disappear.
Analysts say investors will closely follow the speech of Murat Cetinkaya, head of Turkish Central Bank, during the Istanbul Chamber of Industry assembly meeting and the U.S. Federal Reserve head Janet Yellen's messages at the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday.
The U.S. dollar versus Turkish lira rate was at 2.9763 early Wednesday morning, which was relatively flat compared to the previous close.
