ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,567.11 points on Thursday, up 0.50% or 7.83 points from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 0.63% to close at an all-time high of 1,559.28 on Wednesday, with a daily trading volume of 36.7 billion Turkish liras ($5 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 7.4100 as of 9:30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), from 7.4170 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate fell slightly to 9.0100 from 9.0210, while one British pound traded for 10.1200 Turkish liras, down from 10.1690.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $56 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
