ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,304.70 points on Monday, rising 1.04% or 13.41 points from the previous close.
At last week's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 1.54% at 1,291.29 points -- all-time high close -- with a daily trading volume of 31.4 billion Turkish liras ($4.11 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 7.6660 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 7.6920 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also fell to 9.0760 from 9.0890, while one British pound traded for 10.1550 Turkish liras, down from 10.1630.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $43.30 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
