ANKARA (AA) – Boston Celtics' center Al Horford has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now in quarantine, the NBA confirmed early on Wednesday.
The five-time All-Star is the second Celtics player to contract the virus ahead of the start of the new season after Jaylen Brown tested positive last week.
Horford, 35, who had a previous spell in Boston from 2016 to 2019, has returned to the Celtics this season.
He averaged 14.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in 28 games for the Oklahoma City Thunder last season.
