ISTANBUL (AA) - Manchester United confirmed Thursday that Brazilian winger Antony Matheus dos Santos signed a five-year deal with the team with an option for an additional year.
"This is an incredible moment in my career to be joining one of the most iconic clubs in the world," Antony said in a statement. "I’m thankful to everyone who has believed in me, especially my family, and all my coaches and team-mates, because I could not have got here without them.”
Antony, 22, scored 31 goals with 27 assists in 134 club appearances for Ajax and Sao Paulo. He has two goals to go along with two assists in nine senior appearances for his native Brazil.
He has clinched two Eredivisie titles and a gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
The English football club will pay a €95 million ($95 million) transfer fee, including add-ons, and the deal could potentially rise to $100 million.
Antony scored 24 goals with 22 assists in 82 matches for Ajax and won back-to-back top-tier Dutch Eredivisie titles in 2021 and 2022.
He won the Dutch Cup in 2021 and has also played for Sao Paulo in Brazil.
