ISTANBUL (AA) - Brazil’s industrial production rose 0.1% in September, compared to the previous month, according to data released Wednesday.
The figure was expected to show a 0.1% decline after rising 0.4% in August.
Compared to August, only one of the four major economic categories and five of the 25 industrial sectors surveyed showed growth in production, the country’s Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) said in a statement.
Industrial output expanded 0.6% in September, compared to the same month of last year, coming in slightly below estimates.
The market expectation for the annual figure was to show an increase of 0.7% after it rose 0.5% in August year-on-year.
