ISTANBUL (AA) - Brazil’s industrial production rose 1.1% in September, compared to the previous month, according to official data released Friday.
The market expectation for the figure was to show a 0.9% increase, following a rise of 0.2% in August.
"The industrial sector recorded growth of 3.1% in the first nine months of 2024," the Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) said in a statement.
On an annual basis, industrial output was up 3.4% in September, compared to the same month in 2023, it added.
That figure came in much higher than market expectations of a 2.8% increase.
The annual figure showed a gain of 2.3% in August.
