Brazil's producer inflation rises 1.28% in June for 5th straight month

Producer prices annually down 2.72%, according to official figures

ISTANBUL (AA) - Brazil's producer price index (PPI) increased 1.28% in June, rising for the fifth consecutive month, according to official data released on Tuesday.

The monthly PPI figure for May was revised down to a gain of 0.36% from an increase of 0.45%.

A total of 19 sectors out of 24 saw gains in prices during the month of June, the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics said in a report.

The largest monthly gain was seen in chemical products with 3.93%, while transportation equipment saw an increase of 3.67%.

On an annual basis, producer prices were down 2.72% in June, compared to the same month of last year.
