ISTANBUL (AA) - Brazil's unemployment rate fell to 7.8% during the June-August period, according to data released Friday by the Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
The figure is a 0.5 percentage points decrease from the preceding three-month period of March-May when it stood at 8.3%.
It has been the lowest unemployment rate since the quarter ending in February 2015, when it stood at 7.5%, according to IBGE.
It is also a decline of 1.1 percentage points compared to the same period last year, when it was recorded 8.9%.
In the June-August period this year, the number of unemployed population stood at 8.4 million.
