ANKARA (AA) - The English Premier League postponed Brentford’s home match against Manchester United on Tuesday due to a COVID-19 outbreak.
"The (postponement) decision was taken following guidance from medical advisers due to the exceptional circumstances of an ongoing COVID-19 outbreak within Manchester United’s squad," the Premier League said in a statement on Monday.
The game was due to be played on Tuesday at 1930 GMT.
On Monday, Manchester United announced that they closed down their first team operations at the Carrington Training Complex for 24 hours due to several confirmed COVID-19 cases among the first team staff and players.
There were also reports of positive cases in other Premier League teams including Brighton, Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City, and Aston Villa.
