Brighton's James Milner goes joint-second in English Premier League's all-time appearances list

37-year-old midfielder levels with Ryan Giggs on 632 league matches after playing for Brighton at West Ham United

One of the well-known English Premier League players, James Milner, went joint-second Tuesday in the league's all-time appearances list after playing his 632nd match in the competition.

The former Liverpool and Manchester City midfielder played for Brighton & Hove Albion at West Ham United on Tuesday evening which ended 0-0 to level with ex-Manchester United and Wales winger Ryan Giggs.

In 2002, Milner made his Premier League debut as a Leeds United player.

The 37-year-old English national also played for Newcastle United and Aston Villa before moving to Manchester City.

Milner won three Premier League titles: two with Man City in 2012 and 2014, and one as a Liverpool player in 2020.

Gareth Barry, who retired from football in 2020 and was Milner's former teammate at Aston Villa and Man City, is the Premier League's all-time appearance record holder with 652 matches in the competition.

Barry was a longtime Aston Villa player before his multi-season stints at Manchester City and Everton.
