LONDON (AA) - UK Conservative Party MP Bob Stewart was found guilty of racial abuse for telling an activist to "go back to Bahrain," according to media reports Friday.

The MP for Beckenham in southeast London was found guilty of "racial hostility" toward a protester during a demonstration outside a Foreign Office building last December, according to court filings.

In a dispute with Bahraini activist Sayed Ahmed Alwadaei, the MP said: "You're taking money off my country, go away!"

Alwadaei responded: "Bob Stewart, for how much did you sell yourself to the Bahraini regime?"

Stewart then said: "Go away, I hate you. You make a lot of fuss. Go back to Bahrain."

In footage played during the trial Friday at Westminster Magistrates' Court, he also said: "Now shut up, you stupid man," Sky News reported.

Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring found Stewart guilty of a racially aggravated public order offense, but he will not be jailed.
