LONDON (AA) - Timothy Ash, a senior emerging-market strategist at London-based BlueBay Asset Management, has praised Turkiye's Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati's 2-day visit to London on Tuesday.
In a Twitter post, Ash said: "Nebati did a decent job in London."
Nebati is visiting the UK capital for two days to explain the "Turkiye Economy Model" to foreign fund managers and international bank executives.
Turkiye unveiled its new model in the last quarter of 2021 with the aim of a low current account deficit and high growth rate through investment, production, employment and exports, instead of steeper interest rates.
Saying that Nebati was well prepped and is good at marketing and selling the Turkiye story, Ash said:
"(He) was open, welcoming to foreign capital, was clear capital controls are off the agenda. I still worry about international relations policy with Russia/Ukraine risks looming."
It is Nebati's first international trip since taking the helm of the ministry.
