BRUSSELS (AA) – Brussels, the capital of Belgium and the EU, is also known as the "Capital of Art Nouveau."
This year marks the city's celebration of Art Nouveau, with many fine examples on display.
Among them are numerous works by Victor Horta, a renowned Belgian architect and designer.
Many of Horta's works, including Hotel Hannon, Hotel Solvay, Hotel Max Hallet, the Musical Instruments Museum, and his own house, which now serves as the Horta Museum, are designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
These buildings in the Art Nouveau style are distinguished by organic lines, intricate patterns, diverse use of materials, and earthy colors.
