DAKAR, Senegal (AA) - A collapsed building at an area in the center of Senegal’s capital Dakar on Monday has claimed the lives of four children and left three others injured.
The children were playing under the structure when it collapsed, an uncle to two of the victims told an Anadolu Agency reporter at the scene.
He blamed the incident on poor housing planning and misuse of local materials and called for justice.
“We have lost our kids. But we want the owner of the house to be prosecuted,” said Mohamed Ola Ogu, 38, in tears.
Mourners paid tribute to the deceased children -- three boys and a girl, aged 5 to 8 -- at the scene including the local mayor Bathalomy Dias.
