ANKARA (AA) - French club Lille's Turkish forward Burak Yilmaz named the UEFA Europa League player of the week after he came off the bench to score twice to secure a 2-1 comeback win for his team over Sparta Prague.
Lille moved to Europa League knockout stages with one match remaining following this victory in Group H at the Stade Pierre Mauroy on Thursday.
The 35-year old forward won the polls on the UEFA's official website, beating Mian's Jens Petter Hauge, Molde's Magnus Wolff Eikrem and Galeno from Braga on Friday.
Yilmaz maintains his impressive form for Lille this season, scoring 8 goals in 15 matches in all competitions.
