ISTANBUL (AA) - Cameroon on Saturday beat Gambia 2-0 to advance to the semifinals of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Cameroon broke the deadlock with a header from Karl Toko-Ekambi in the 50th minute at the Douala Stadium.
Seven minutes later, Olympique Lyon striker Toko-Ekambi scored again to double the gap with a close-range finish.
The 29-year-old has so far produced five goals at the AFCON, chasing his teammate Vincent Aboubakar who has scored six goals.
Five-time champions Cameroon will face the winner of the Egypt vs. Morocco in the next round.
