HAMILTON, Canada (AA) - Vancouver police on Wednesday shot a suspect who reportedly stabbed several people in a violent attack near the Canadian city’s downtown library, according to a report.
The suspect was confronted by the police inside a 7-Eleven convenience store, the Canadian Press reported, citing a video footage and eyewitness accounts.
The video footages showed that police officers aimed their weapons over the counter and fired at least ten rounds.
A separate video posted online revealed paramedics performing chest compressions on a person as they were transported on a stretcher to an ambulance.
While local authorities have yet to release specific details about the number of victims or their conditions, a police investigation remains underway for the motive of the attack.
