ANKARA (AA) - Canada took gold and set an Olympic record in the women's Team Pursuit speed skating event on Tuesday at the Beijing Games.
Team Canada won in a time of 2:53.44.
Japan settled for silver as they finished 11.03 seconds off the leaders.
The Netherlands returned home with a bronze medal.
Meanwhile, in the men's Team Pursuit, Norway were crowned champions, finishing in 3.38.08.
The Norwegian men have won the event in back-to-back Games.
Norway were at least two seconds ahead of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC).
The US rounded out the top three with a bronze.

On day 11 of competition, Norway retained the top spot in the Olympic medal table.
It has won 26 medals, including 12 gold, seven silver and seven bronze in Beijing.
Germany are in second with nine gold, six silver and three bronze medals.
US ix third after winning seven gold, six silver and four bronze medals at the games.
The Olympic Winter Games will run through Feb. 20.
