ISTANBUL (AA) - Canada's investment in building construction fell 1.7% to $20.9 billion in July, according to the country's statistical agency on Wednesday.
The residential sector fell 2.2% to $14.6 billion in July, while the non-residential sector declined 0.4% to $6.3 billion, Statistics Canada said in a statement.
Monthly declines were seen in five of the country's 13 provinces during the month of July, led by Quebec with a decrease of $9.6 million and followed by Ontario, which fell $12 million.
Investment in building construction showed gains of 0.7% in May and 2.7% in June, while it was up 7% annually in July.
