ISTANBUL (AA) - Canada's manufacturing sales rose 1.2% to $71.7 billion in November last year, according to figures released Monday by the country's statistical agency.
The market expectation for the figure was to show an increase of 1%.
Manufacturing sales for October was revised up from a decline of 2.8% to a decrease of 2.9%.
The gain in November was led by sales in the chemical sector with 6.6%, followed by primary metal at 4% and machinery 4.3%, Statistics Canada in a statement.
On an annual basis, however, manufacturing sales decreased 0.8% in November, compared to the same month of last year.
