ISTANBUL (AA) - Canada's retail sales declined 0.3% to $65.7 billion in June, the country's statistical authority said Friday.
The figure came in line with market expectations, while retail sales decreased 0.8% in May.
In June, sales were down in four of nine subsectors, led by motor vehicle and parts dealers that fell 2.1%, Statistics Canada said in a statement.
Core retail sales, which exclude gasoline stations and motor vehicle and parts dealers, rose 0.4% in June.
The market estimate for the figure was to show a decrease of 0.2%.
The core retail sales figure for May was revised to a fall of 1.3% from a decline of 1.4%.
