Caring for each other during the coronavirus pandemic

Assalumu Alaikum,

Dear Brothers and Sisters, Leaders of Islamic Centers and Organizations,

We ask Allah Subhaanahu Wa Taala to protect us all, our loved ones and
everyone else in these hard times.

The coronavirus pandemic statistics are staggering.

As of today:
-    Worldwide: About 1.5 Million cases, and 87,000 dead
-    In the US: About 425,000 cases, and 14,000 dead.

At the same,
-    Worldwide: About 317,000 Recovered cases
-    In the US: About 23,000 Recovered cases

This is a reminder to us all to continue to care for each other, and all
those around us and beyond.

Many thanks to those in the front lines, first responders, officials,
helpers at all levels for their continuous efforts to keep everyone safe.

Many thanks to all the Masajid and Centers that have responded and
offered to open their doors, and to use their parking lots for testing
for the coronavirus.

In the spirit of helping one another, let’s remember to:
1.    Continue to follow the authorities' guidelines, slow down the
spread of the coronavirus, and save lives
2.    Reach out to those we have not communicated with for a long time
3.    Call those who are in need of help, and be there for them and
support them
4.    Have groceries or medications delivered to those who can’t do it
on their own
5.    Support our Masajid online, since the facilities are closed, and
consequently, the Jumaa   prayers, daily prayers, regular programs,
Halaqas, and in-person activities are all suspended
6.    Stay connected with our communities with virtual programs
7.    Keep our youth spiritually engaged
8.    Provide physical, mental, emotional and spiritual support whenever
needed
9.    Exercise even more patience in these difficult times.
10.  Continue to make duas.

For those who lost their jobs, or had to shut down their businesses,
take advantage of the $2T stimulus package, apply for unemployment, get
adequate financial help to keep your business running.

We ask Allah, Subhaanahu Wa Taala, to keep us safe, and bring relief soon.

We are half-way through the month Shaban, and half-way through the
blessed three-month period from the beginning of Rajab until the end of
Ramadhan.

Prophet Muhammad, Salla Allahu Alaihi Wa Sallam, said “Know that the
month of Rajab is the month of Allah, the month of Shaban is my month
and that of Ramadhan is the month of my Umma”.

May Allah Subhaanahu Wa Taala, reward you for your continuous good
deeds. Ameen.
