Casualties as Israeli jets bomb Palestinian Red Crescent headquarters in Khan Younis

Israel launches deadly offensive on Gaza Strip since Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack

ISTANBUL (AA) - Israeli fighter jets struck the headquarters of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in the southern Gaza Strip on Thursday, killing one person and injuring six others, the humanitarian aid organization said.

The society published a video of the Israeli strike that targeted its building in Khan Younis city.

Hundreds of displaced Palestinians have taken shelter at the premises of the humanitarian aid organization in Khan Younis amid relentless Israeli attacks on the city.

Israeli jets struck the same floor last month, injuring several displaced Palestinians.

On Wednesday, the Red Crescent Society reported Israeli heavy artillery shelling near the building.

Israel launched relentless air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip since Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack, killing at least 22,313 Palestinians and injuring 57,296 others, according to Gaza’s health authorities, while nearly 1,200 Israelis are believed to have been killed in the Hamas attack.

The Israeli onslaught has left Gaza in ruins, with 60% of the enclave’s infrastructure damaged or destroyed, and nearly 2 million residents displaced amid acute shortages of food, clean water, and medicines.
