BEIRUT (AA) - An Israeli drone struck a car in southern Lebanon on Tuesday amid reports of casualties, according to Lebanese media.
A drone fired a missile at a car in the border town of Chaqra, leaving the vehicle in flames and injuring several people, the state-run National News Agency reported.
Israeli warplanes also reportedly broke the sound barrier over Beirut and its suburbs.
Tuesday’s attacks came amid growing fears of a full-fledged war between Israel and Hezbollah amid an exchange of almost daily attacks.
The escalation comes against the backdrop of a deadly Israeli onslaught on the Gaza Strip, which has killed more than 39,000 people since Oct. 7 last year following an attack by the Palestinian resistance group Hamas.
