ISTANBUL (AA) — China on Monday announced export controls on specific equipment used in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
The country's Commerce Ministry said the controls on certain items related to unmanned airships will take effect on Sept. 1.
It added the step was taken to "safeguard national security and interest."
The restrictions, which will continue for two years, will be focused on some UAV engines, radio communication equipment, and anti-UAV systems.
