China, Finland to advance ‘future-oriented new-type’ cooperative partnership

ANKARA(AA) - Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Finnish counterpart, Alexander Stubb, held talks Tuesday in Beijing and agreed to advance a new partnership.

“The two Presidents agreed to further advance the China-Finland future-oriented new-type cooperative partnership,“ Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chuniying wrote on X. “The two countries have since enjoyed friendly relations, mutual respect and mutual trust.”​​​​​​​

Stubb arrived Monday in Beijing on a four-day visit to China.

Finland is one of the first Western countries to establish diplomatic ties with China, with Oct. 28 marking the 74th anniversary of relations.​​​​​​​
