Chinese President Xi Jinping’s Special Representative and Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang on Friday said that Beijing is willing to work with developing countries to combat climate change.
Speaking at the UN climate summit, commonly known as COP28, in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, Ding called climate change a threat to the entire world.
"China is actively implementing our national strategy in handling climate change and we have established a policy framework of carbon neutrality," he told the participants of the summit.
Dubai is hosting the two-week UN climate summit, attended by around 70,000 delegates from around the world.
"We are also willing to work with developing countries in combating climate change," Ding said.
According to Ding, carbon emissions intensity in China has significantly decreased as Beijing has focused on the production of new energy vehicles, which are now operating on routes across China.
"Climate change is a common challenge faced by all countries [and] It's also an opportunity where different countries can work together in promoting green development," he added.
