ISTANBUL (AA) – Senior Chinese and US officials held “candid in-depth, and constructive” talks in Washington, discussing bilateral and regional matters.
Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Dan Kritenbrink represented the US while Vice Foreign Minister for Asia Sun Weidong represented China.
“This is one of the now many follow-up meetings we have had since the secretary’s trip to Beijing in June, and I expect that we’ll have a readout later today that will provide further details on the meeting,” said State Department spokesman Matthew Miller in a statement on Thursday.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited China in June.
