ANKARA (AA) – Clashes erupted on Thursday at a culture festival in Stockholm, Sweden’s capital, leaving at least 52 people injured, according to local media.
A group protesting the Eritrean government stormed the cultural festival in Stockholm and clashed with attendants, the Swedish daily Aftonbladet reported.
Protesters used sticks and rocks as weapons and also threw them at police officers. They also set fire to vehicles.
At least 52 people and three police officers were injured, the same source said, adding that hundreds of people were arrested.
The festival organized since the 1990s has been criticized in recent years for allegedly supporting the Eritrean government, according to Aftonbladet.
