IGDIR, Turkey (AA) - At least two soldiers were injured on Wednesday during clashes with PKK terrorists in eastern Igdir province, security sources said.
Clashes broke out between Turkish troops and terrorists in the Kucuk Agri Mountain region near the border with Iran, said the sources who requested anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
The injured soldiers were rushed to hospitals in Kars and Igdir provinces.
Igdir State Hospital's chief of medicine Dr. Rasit Ilhan told reporters that the soldiers are in stable condition.
Security forces launched an operation in the area to nab the terrorists.
The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU.
