NEW YORK (AA) - Rise in communication companies' shares pushed two of the three major indexes on Wall Street to record closes on Friday.
Verizon's stock price rose 1.4 percent, while AT&T shares gained 2.1 percent.
The Dow added 64 points to end the day at 22,268 and the S&P climbed 4 points to 2,500. Both indices closed at their all-time highest levels.
The Nasdaq increased 19 points to finish trading at 6,448.
This week the Dow posted a gain of 2.2 percent, marking its best weekly performance since December.
The S&P rose 1.6 percent this week, while the Nasdaq increased 1.4 percent.
