ISTANBUL (AA) - A late goal by Francisco Conceicao gave Portugal a 2-1 victory over the Czech Republic in a EURO 2024 Group F match Tuesday.
Neither national team was initially able to break the deadlock, but Lukas Provod made a long-range finish for the Czech Republic in the 62nd minute.
Vladimir Coufal assisted Provod at Leipzig Stadium.
Portugal equalized the game with Robin Hranac's own goal in the 69th minute. Hranac deflected the ball into his net from his goalkeeper Jindrich Stanek's save.
In the 86th minute, Diogo Jota scored, but VAR disallowed that due to an offside call.
Conceicao scored from close range to take the lead for Portugal in stoppage time, making it 2-1.
