ISTANBUL (AA) - Health authorities in Iraq, Sudan and Qatar on Thursday registered more deaths from the novel coronavirus.
The Iraqi Health Ministry recorded 3,651 virus cases, 72 deaths and 3,794 recoveries over the past 24 hours.
The ministry stated that the total number of cases in the country rose to 219,435, including 6,740 deaths and 161,009 recoveries.
In Sudan, the Health Ministry registered four new fatalities, 37 COVID-19 cases and 37 recoveries.
The ministry stated that the total number of cases in the country rose to 13,045, including 823 deaths and 6,594 recoveries.
Qatar's Health Ministry announced one new death from the virus, bringing the death toll to 195.
The ministry said that the total number of cases in the country surged to 117,988, including 114,797 recoveries.
Jordan's Health Ministry recorded 45 new coronavirus cases and nine recoveries, bringing the total number of cases to 1,801, of which 1,381 have recovered, while the death toll stands at 15.
Since originating in China last December, COVID-19 has claimed over 827,100 lives in 188 countries and regions.
More than 24.23 million cases have been reported worldwide, while nearly 15.84 million patients have recovered, according to figures compiled by the US’ Johns Hopkins University.
