ANKARA (AA) - The global tally of people who recovered from deadly coronavirus exceeded 200,000 on Wednesday, quadrupling of the death toll.
According to the running data of U.S.-based Johns Hopkins University, a total of 202,342 recoveries recorded across the globe, while over 48,200 people have died from the epidemic and cases surged to nearly 952,000.
The highest number of recoveries are registered in China, the ground zero of the virus, with 76,571. Spain, one of the most affected countries from COVID-19, and Germany followed China with 26,743 and 19,175 recoveries, respectively.
In recent days, according to the Johns Hopkins data, daily fatalities remain in single digits in China.
Many countries have restricted travel from the most affected areas and implemented lockdowns as the World Health Organization declared the outbreak a pandemic and Europe the new epicenter.
