ANKARA (AA) - Health authorities in Iraq and Bahrain on Wednesday confirmed more fatalities and infections related to the novel coronavirus.
The Iraqi Health Ministry said 50 people died from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, pushing the nationwide tally to 11,482.
The virus also sickened 3,198 more people, bringing the total number of cases to 508,508, including 436,657 recoveries.
In Bahrain, the Health Ministry recorded three more deaths and 179 new cases over the past two days.
The country’s death toll now stands at 332 and the total number of infections at 83,811, including 81,414 recoveries.
Since first being detected in Wuhan, China in December, COVID-19 has claimed over 1.27 million lives in 191 countries and regions.
Over 51.63 million cases have been reported worldwide, with recoveries exceeding 33.63 million, according to figures compiled by the US’ Johns Hopkins University.
