ANKARA (AA) – Health authorities in Iraq and Saudi Arabia confirmed more fatalities and infections related to the novel coronavirus on Wednesday.
The Iraqi Health Ministry said 60 people died from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, pushing the nationwide death toll to 11,128.
The virus has also sickened 3,574 more people, bringing the total cases to 485,870, including 417,235 recoveries.
In Saudi Arabia, the Health Ministry recorded 15 more deaths and 426 new cases over the past day.
The Kingdom’s count now stands at 5,471 deaths and 348,936 infections as well as 335,594 recoveries.
Since first being detected in Wuhan, China in December, COVID-19 has claimed over 1.21 million lives in 188 countries and regions.
Over 47.55 million cases have been reported worldwide, with recoveries exceeding 31.69 million, according to figures compiled by the US’ Johns Hopkins University.
