Coronavirus situation update in Arab nations

Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia report new infections, related deaths and recoveries

ISTANBUL (AA) - Health authorities in Arab countries confirmed more coronavirus cases, related deaths and recoveries over the past 24 hours. The new figures were announced on Sunday.


-Oman

The Sultanate of Oman announced at least eight more virus-linked deaths, bringing the fatality count to 780.

As many as 1,409 new infections were also confirmed, pushing the caseload to 89,746, including 83,771 recoveries.


-Kuwait

At least two deaths and 553 new cases were reported in Kuwait.

The total number of cases climbed to 94,764, including 560 deaths and 84,995 recoveries.


-Bahrain

The Kingdom of Bahrain registered 747 new infections, pushing the tally to 59,586, including 53,192 recoveries.

The virus-linked death toll increased to 211 with three additions.


-UAE

The United Arab Emirates said that the number of cases rose to 79,489 with 640 additions.

With the recovery of 468 more patients, the total number of people who regained health reached 69,451. The death toll stands at 399.


-Qatar

Another 217 infections were registered in Qatar, bringing the number of cases to 121,740.

As many as 205 people have succumbed to the novel virus, while 118,682 have healed.


-Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia reported 28 new virus-related fatalities, bringing the country’s death toll to 4,268.

Another 601 infections were confirmed, bringing the sum to 325,651, including 302,870 recoveries.
