AKARA(AA) - The number of confirmed coronavirus cases and death toll have jumped in Europe on Friday.
France reported two new deaths, making the death toll nine in the country, and the number of confirmed cases of novel coronavirus known as COVID-19 jumped to 577 around the country.
Spain now has 365 confirmed cases of coronavirus. And the country reported five deaths so far.
In the U.K. officials confirmed 163 cases and two people lost their lives due to the deadly virus.
Germany confirmed 534 cases, and Greece 45, but no death has been reported in the countries.
In Europe’s worst-hit country, Italy, 197 people lost their lives so far. The number of confirmed cases climbed to 3,916 making Italy one of the most affected countries across the world.
Romania on Friday confirmed nine new cases and Vatican announced the first case of coronavirus.
First detected in Wuhan, China in December, the disease, also known as COVID-19 now is present in over 80 countries worldwide.
The global death toll is nearing 3,500, with around 100,000 confirmed cases, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
It has since spread to over 80 countries and the World Health Organization, which declared the outbreak an international health emergency, and recently updated the global risk assessment to “very high”.
