CORRECTS POINTS IN LEDE, UPDATES WITH MORE FIGURES

ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkey’s benchmark stock index closed the week flat at 1,330.87 points.
Starting the day at 1,332.87 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index earned just 0.02 point over Thursday’s close of 1,330.85 points.
During the day, the index hovered between 1,326.20 and 1,337.88 points.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 984.2 billion Turkish liras ($126.1 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 28.2 billion Turkish liras ($3.61 billion).
On the last transaction day of the week, 36 stocks on the index rose, 61 fell and three were flat compared to Thursday.
The highest trading volumes were posted by petrochemical company Petkim, state lender Industrial Development Bank (TSKB) and energy giant Tupras.
Polyester producer Sasa Polyester was the best performer, with its shares up 9.99%, while stocks of a pharmaceutical warehouse Selcuk Ecza Deposu dropped the most, losing 9.96%.
The price of one ounce of gold was $1,840.00 by market close, up from $1,830.00 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was around $49.10 per barrel as of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT) on Friday.
