ANKARA (AA) - Croatia on Wednesday announced their 26-man squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Luka Modric, the 37-year-old Real Madrid midfielder, who is the most capped Croatian player will be the team’s skipper.
Experienced midfielders Chelsea's Mateo Kovacic, Inter Milan's Marcelo Brozovic and Atalanta's Mario Pasalic are also named in the squad.
Josko Gvardiol, a 20-year-old promising defender of Leipzig, has also been called up for his first World Cup.
Tottenham's 33-year-old midfielder Ivan Perisic, Zenit St. Petersburg defender Dejan Lovren and former Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida, who now plays for AEK, are also among the notables named in the squad.
