ISTANBUL (AA) - The Czech Republic defeated 10-man Netherlands 2-0 on Sunday to face Denmark in EURO 2020 quarterfinals.
Neither team was able to break the deadlock in the first half at Budapest's Puskas Arena.
In the 55th minute, Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt received a red card for the handball after a VAR (Video
Assistant Referee) review so the Netherlands played the final 35 minutes with 10 men.
Defender Tomas Holes scored the opening with a header to put the Czechs up 1-0 in the 68th minute.
In the 80th minute, the Czech Republic doubled the lead when Patrik Schick made a close-range finish.
Denmark, the Czechs' quarter-final opponent, sealed a 4-0 huge victory win over Wales in the last 16 phase on Saturday.
