ISTANBUL (AA) — Danish cyclist Mads Pedersen won the eighth stage of the Tour de France on Saturday.
Mads Pedersen of the Lidl-Trek team completed the 201-kilometer (124-mile) stage from Libourne to Limoges in four hours, 12 minutes, and 26 seconds.
Belgian Jasper Philipsen from Alpecin-Deceuninck, came second, while his fellow countryman Wout van Aert from Jumbo-Visma finished in third place.
Jonas Vingegaard, also Danish, of the Jumbo-Visma team is leading the race in a time of 34 hours, nine minutes, and 38 seconds.
British racer of the Astana team Mark Cavendish crashed out of the race on stage eight and suffered a broken collarbone.
The ninth stage, a 182.5-km ride, will be held Sunday from Saint-Leonard-de-Noblat and Puy de Dome.
