ISTANBUL (AA) - Manchester United confirmed on Friday the signing of Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen on a three-year deal.
"Manchester United is a special club, and I cannot wait to get started," Eriksen said after the signing ceremony.
"I have had the privilege of playing at Old Trafford many times but to do it in the red shirt of United will be an amazing feeling," he added.
The 30-year-old has played for Ajax, Tottenham Hotspur, Inter Milan, and Brentford.
He suffered cardiac arrest during a EURO 2020 Group B game against Finland in Copenhagen's Parken Stadium on June 12.
The Danish midfielder underwent a successful operation and was discharged from the hospital on June 18.
Eriksen did not appear for Inter and his nation for several months before joining Brentford on a free transfer during the winter transfer window at the end of January.
He has 115 caps for Denmark, scoring 38 goals. He played in 237 English Premier League matches, registering 52 goals and 71 assists.
As a three-time Dutch champion with Ajax, Eriksen helped Inter win the 2021 Italian Serie A title.
